Remote Reporting

Remote Reporting is an Add-on to the PHOENIX® Automation software that gives remote offices or dealers the power to analyze their data without taxing Central Station resources.

This product provides an efficient method for updating a remote database by creating a data file of data modified since the last time this process ran. Data is exported to the remote office’s or dealer’s computer for analysis. Phoenix reports can then be run or, since the local database is ODBC compliant, other third-part report writing tools can be used for data analysis.

The Central Station defines what information should be down-loaded for each remote user. The process to create the data file can be scheduled to begin at off-peak Central Station times, placing little demand on the Phoenix system.

Like all of ABM’s products, the Remote Reporting product employs TCP/IP as the networking protocol of choice. Connecting to the Phoenix system can be accomplished with a simple modem/telephone line at the remote office and a Remote Access Service (RAS) connection at the Phoenix site. Remote offices also have the option to access the Phoenix system using established LAN/WAN/Internet/VPN connections.
