User Defines Bandwidth You can select the amount of bandwidth to dedicate to replication. If you have a 128K link, you can limit replication to a maximum of 64K, reserving the remainder for standard network traffic.
How Double-Take Works Providing your company with robust, industrial-strength downtime prevention is easy. You install Double-Take software on each source and target server. Then, with an easy-to-use client application, you define the data you want replicated and where the copies are to be stored. If desired, the source server (s) can be active when the initial mirroring operation is performed.
Once this simple configuration is complete, operations are automatic and transparent. The failover module resides on the target server and continually monitors the source server(s). In the event of a server failure, the target server assumes the name and IP address of the failed server (in addition to its original name) and automatically invokes scripts to restart the appropriate applications.
